Small-business advocates want health exchanges in bill

Web-based, state-based insurance exchanges could bring the cost of health insurance down for small businesses by increasing competition for their plans, broadening their risks, giving them more bargaining power and reducing administrative costs. NFIB and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce advocate including the exchanges in health reform legislation, arguing that allowing small businesses to shop across state lines is an important strategy for increasing competition and bringing costs down.
