States pursue coastal development despite threat from rising seas

Property and commercial development in low-lying regions of Florida and other states along the Atlantic coast continues despite the risks posed by rising sea levels, according to a study by U.S. researchers. "A map that shows Miami completely under water may not be as realistic as Miami subjected to a lot of shore-protection measures," one of the experts said.
