Author of technology-accessibility law visits Mass. school

U.S. Rep. Edward Markey visited the Learning Center for the Deaf in Framingham, Mass., recently to promote the 21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act, a law he wrote to increase accessibility to the Internet and other technology for people with disabilities. Among other things, the law mandates captioning for online versions of television shows and will require Internet-calling equipment to be accessible to people who use hearing aids.
