Ridgecrest, Calif., considers changing landscaping policy

The Planning Commission at Ridgecrest, Calif., convened Tuesday to discuss proposed changes to the water district's existing policy that regulates the amount of grass residents of new homes can plant in their front yard. The revisions would permit residents to grow 400 square feet of grass and other plants on the front yards of new homes and 500 square feet of greenery at their backyard.
