United Bankshares CEO says "earnings continue to be strong"

United Bankshares reported third-quarter earnings of $17.3 million, bringing the year-to-date total to the end of September to $52.7 million. "Considering the current economic environment, United's earnings continue to be strong with asset quality favorable to peers," said Richard M. Adams, chairman and CEO at United Bankshares. "United also continues to be well-capitalized based upon regulatory guidelines."
