Maine's drug import law puts pharma's reputation at risk, PhRMA says

More lawsuits could be filed against the pharmaceutical industry with the implementation of Maine's law that authorizes the direct purchase of mail-order drugs from certain foreign pharmacies. "It's our reputation that's going to be at stake, not CanaRx," said Mit Spears, executive vice president and general counsel of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. The Maine law undermines the push in the U.S. for a drug track-and-trace system and could lead to similar moves in other states, Spears said.
