Samsung to woo developers, strikes NBA mobile deal

Samsung Electronics will try to convince developers to write applications specifically for its mobile devices at its first conference for software writers in San Francisco this week. The South Korean electronics firm is trying to build consumer loyalty to its Android-based smartphones and tablets. Also, Samsung has inked a $100 million marketing deal with the National Basketball Association under which the company will become the league's official provider of tablets and TV sets in a deal that will raise Samsung's courtside visibility. The NBA also will prepare content for the tablets.
