Idaho judge says districts cannot be forced to repair buildings

A state district judge yesterday declared a law ordering school districts to repair their buildings unconstitutional because it depended upon local property taxes as a last resort, which the judge had previously ruled to be inequitable. Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said he would ask the state's Supreme Court for an expedited review of the judge's ruling.
