Obama voters split on Proposition 8

Political observers are noting a split dividing progressive interests in California. While gay- and civil-rights groups oppose Proposition 8, some minority voters -- who have registered in record numbers nationwide to cast votes for Democratic Sen. Barack Obama -- will likely tick off a check in support of the measure. Almost half of those who attend historically black churches disapprove of homosexuality, and those who vote are expected to support the marriage ban.
