The pumpkin becomes classroom learning tool

Some Massachusetts teachers are using pumpkins to teach third-grade students simple math, writing and science lessons. Students were asked to write essays on how to carve pumpkins and estimate the weight of the pumpkins, as teachers worked together to apply both hands-on and visual learning techniques to the exercise.
