Transit systems rely on ad dollars

Advertising is becoming increasingly visible in metropolitan transit systems, as these cash-strapped systems look to ad deals as a reliable source of revenue. Technology is also playing a role. Out-of-home ad firm Titan Worldwide recently started placing digital ads on the outside of buses in New York and Chicago.
