Column: Casino projects may face obstacles in Massachusetts

A majority of Massachusetts voters may support expanding gambling in the state, but that doesn't mean casinos will have an easy time getting construction projects approved, Scott Van Voorhis writes. He notes that developers often struggle to get large projects passed on the local level. Meanwhile, Mohegan Sun is holding a series of forums to promote its plan for a casino in Palmer, Mass. Officials say the casino would create 1,000 construction jobs and up to 3,000 permanent jobs.
