Solar cars speed through Australian outback

The World Solar Challenge -- a 1,880-mile sun-powered sprint across the Australian outback -- is under way. Dozens of teams from 17 countries entered vehicles in the race, which passes through deserts, rain forests and savannas. Early on, a car entered by Japan's Tokai University has the lead, with a Dutch-American joint effort in second place.
