Teachers in S.C. district could be subject to social-networking policy

A South Carolina school board is considering adding social-networking Web site regulations for staff to its conduct policy. Under the proposed policy, teachers using Web sites such as Facebook could be subject to review if the use "impairs the employee's ability to effectively perform his or her job responsibilities or violates local, state or federal law or contractual agreements."
