Elections hold the attention of small-business owners

Small-business owners are paying rapt attention to the outcome of the midterm election and closely monitoring future economic initiatives, surveys show. A huge 93% of small-business owners say they plan to vote in the midterm elections, according to a survey from Sage, and few said they were benefiting from current economic-stimulus policies. Meanwhile, 30% of owners said they have put off making a business decision until after the elections, which may have contributed to the summer economic slowdown.
