Bill to expand cyberschools advances in Mich.

The Michigan Senate approved a bill that would allow more online and virtual schools to open as part of a plan to expand public education. Opponents of the bill say there is little evidence to show that cyber charter schools are effective or that more should be added. Supporters say the state's two existing cyber charter schools have long waiting lists and parents are seeking more opportunities to enroll their children.
