Colo. hospital's monitoring system tracks ICU patients

ICU patients at Banner Health's North Colorado Medical Center are continuously monitored through its electronic health records-based iCare system, which the hospital has improved by adding clinical alerts and best practice measures to track patients with symptoms of sepsis. NCMC is part of Banner's initiative to use its electronic monitoring system to keep sepsis mortality below 7%, and so far in 2011 it has kept its rates at 2%.
