Program aims to clarify the difference between humor and bullying

A program that teaches anti-bullying and diversity awareness to elementary-school students focuses on how certain jokes can be hurtful or offensive to others. The program, called "This is a Joke -- Making Fun of Others is Not," is sponsored by the Allegheny County, Pa., Bar Association, whose media-relations director Tom Loftus learned as a child how humor could be used to bully and alienate his brother, who cannot hear.
