AAMC: First-time med school enrollment passes 20,000 mark

Total first-time enrollment in medical schools for the 2013-14 school year reached a record high at 20,055, up 2.8% from the previous year and 21.6% from 2002, according to data from the Association for American Medical Colleges. The number of first-time applicants also grew, up 5.8% from last year.
