Identify employees' needs to maintain a happy workforce

Employee turnover is costly and steps should be taken to minimize it, Heather Huhman writes. When an employee leaves, conduct an exit interview to identify his or her reasons and take note if several departing staff members give similar responses. It can be especially difficult to find employees to perform certain jobs so you've got to make sure workers' needs are met to keep them with your company.
