LaMattina: Don't blame pharma for lack of better meds for neglected diseases

It is not economically feasible for the pharmaceutical industry to conduct significantly more research and development of treatments for neglected diseases such as tuberculosis, malaria and tropical diseases, John LaMattina writes. New models, possibly involving academic institutions and nonprofits, are needed to bring to market more ways to prevent and treat neglected diseases.
