Atomically precise manufacturing holds the potential for a great deal more than production at the nano scale, writes Eric Drexler at the University of Oxford's Oxford Martin Programme on the Impacts of Future Technology. Problems as big as global warming, for instance, could find much of their solution with vast deployments of solar power made economically feasible through APM, he contends.
