NEW speakers: Why business leaders should prioritize family time

It's important for business leaders to have the opportunity to carve out some time for their families, according to Brian Cornell, CEO of PepsiCo Americas Foods, who participated in NEW's 2013 Leadership Summit. Modern technology "makes it easier to step away because you're still available if you are needed," he said. In addition, Cornell and Michelle Gloeckler of Walmart U.S. stressed the need for executives to be authentic in the office. "It's OK to bring caring into the workplace and share what's going on in your life with your colleagues because that makes for a happier work life," Gloeckler said.
