N.Y. teachers integrate Superstorm Sandy into classroom lessons

Teachers on Long Island, N.Y., are integrating last year's Superstorm Sandy into the curriculum, using the storm in lessons ranging from visual arts to earth science, meteorology and journalism. "It was something that greatly affected us. And that was one of the reasons ... this should be incorporated across the district, because of the impact it had on our kids and our teachers," said Nicole Jones, assistant principal of Uniondale's Turtle Hook Middle School.
