NYC moves to crack down on debt collectors

New York City's Department of Consumer Affairs filed a complaint Friday to prevent National Credit Adjusters of Hutchinson, Kan., from doing business in the city. The action comes as part of the city's effort to crack down on payday lenders. City officials say the firm was collecting on debts from payday and other loans with high interest rates that are against New York law.
