PhRMA: Neb. hosted more than 1,900 clinical trials since 1999

More than 1,900 clinical studies have been conducted by researchers in Nebraska since 1999, creating services and goods worth $2.5 billion in the state, said Jeff Trewhitt, co-author of a PhRMA report on the impact of clinical trials in the state. More than half of the studies targeted the six most debilitating chronic conditions in the U.S. -- stroke, mental illness, heart disease, diabetes, cancer and asthma.
