Senior center to install telemedicine kiosk to boost patient care

A free telemedicine kiosk will be deployed Tuesday at the Muncie Delaware County Senior Center in Indiana through a partnership with Visiting Nurse Service to make health care more accessible to local seniors. The kiosk can be used by patients to check their vital signs, including oxygen levels, weight, temperature and blood pressure. "We want to help people stay out of the emergency room and the hospitals, and a lot can be caught pretty early. Getting seniors the tools to catch harmful changes early allows them to keep track of what's going on with their bodies and make their health decisions without being told what to do," said Heather Hughet, a spokeswoman for Visiting Nurse Service.
