A study in the American Journal of Medicine says most Americans are not getting the recommended levels of dietary fiber. Researchers found that individuals in the top 20% of dietary-fiber consumption had lower odds of developing metabolic syndrome, inflammation or obesity, while such conditions were more common among those who consumed less fiber.
