Study suggests obesity may be risk factor for C. diff

A small study from Boston University School of Medicine linked obesity to a higher risk of community-acquired Clostridium difficile infection. Researchers said obesity and inflammatory bowel disease, which is an independent risk factor for C. diff, are linked to similar changes in GI microbiota, so it is possible obesity also might be a risk factor for the infection.
