Biotech company gets OK to test new flu vaccine

The FDA will allow Protein Sciences, a small, Connecticut-based biotech company, to administer advanced testing of its cell-culture flu vaccine in 500 people ages 18 to 49 in the U.S. Rather than chicken eggs, the vaccine is made in cell cultures. If the drug works, it could be on the U.S. market by 2007.
