Development plans solidify for two historic Seattle buildings

Developers are planning to transform two of Seattle's best-known historic buildings, the Arctic Building and the nearby Alaska Building, into a hotel and a mixed-used building, respectively. The Arctic Building is being bought by Spokane, Wash., developer ConoverBond Development, which plans to convert it into a 113-room boutique hotel, and developers Kauri Investments and Ariel Development plan to convert the Alaska Building into 10 stories of housing with four floors of office space and a ground level of retail.
