Q-and-A: Golf expert details course renovation

Steve Friedlander, the Irvine Co.'s general manager for golf, explains the overhaul that has been taking place at the Pelican Hill Golf Club, which has partially reopened after more than two years of renovations. Friedlander, who worked at the Kohler Co. before joining the Irvine Co., says the behind-the-scenes work on the Southern California course includes everything from working with original designer Tom Fazio to installing "a state-of-the-art water management system to irrigate the course and trap and treat runoff."
