Delta, Northwest merger approval could come within days

Industry experts say Justice Department approval for the proposed merger between Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines could be just days away. "There was really nobody out there who put forth any good opposition on this," says airline consultant Darryl Jenkins, while Michael Boyd, president of Boyd Group International, says "there is almost no overlap of routes, so why would you turn it down?" Delta CEO Richard Anderson says all that remains following government approval is "a bunch of paperwork and legal documents that need to be put in order ... and that should take a few days."
