Groups clamor for a piece of second stimulus package

Several groups are clamoring to get their interests represented in the proposed, second economic stimulus packages. Those hoping to benefit from the legislation being pushed by Democrats range from city transit officials to labor unions to "clean tech" advocates. "Construction has always been an engine of economic stimulus and can play that role once again," said AGC CEO Stephen Sandherr. "Increases in infrastructure investment can be quickly put into play and will have a direct, immediate and dramatic impact on the economy."
