SEC's roundtable on mark-to-market accounting begins today

The Securities and Exchange Commission is holding a two-part series of roundtables on the current financial market landscape and "mark-to-market" accounting rules starting today. "These roundtables will provide the Commission with valuable insights from investors, issuers and others affected by recent developments in the marketplace," said Conrad Hewitt, chief accountant at the SEC. "We are interested in hearing participants' views on transparency and usefulness of reported financial information in times of market turmoil."
