As chief executive of the Lippo Group, one of Indonesia's biggest conglomerates, James Riady says he's had to learn humility to keep the company on track. "Money and power are both a blessing and a curse," says Riady. "The more successful you are, the more you face the temptation of being egoistic and full of pride." By being aware of his limits and learning from his past mistakes, Riady says, he's been able to help his company weather the global economic downturn.
