Human input threatens search engines in new Web era

Internet users are getting used to other human beings helping them find online content via social networks or editorial services, a dramatic shift away from traditional automated content services, says Bill Tancer, Experian Hitwise general manager of global research. Industry leaders say the trend toward increasingly personalized content may pose a threat to search engines.
