Indian electric-car firm hopes to go global

The Reva Electric Car Co., a Bangalore, India-based producer of tiny electric vehicles, hopes to break into international markets with its new battery-powered city car. The vehicle, which is slightly shorter than a Mini Cooper, can travel up to 100 miles on a single charge, at speeds of up to 65kph. Reva, which is also set to provide components for General Motor's Chevrolet Spark, is in talks to franchise production of the new model to a Long Island-based auto company and could begin U.S. production in a little over a year.
