Social media's benefits are worth loss of privacy

Social-media interaction may come at the expense of our privacy, but not sharing means "you simply don't exist" online, according to Pete Cashmore, CEO of Mashable. Cashmore profiles emerging social tools that will help capture every moment in our lives online. "We're living at a time when attention is the new currency," he explains. "Those who insert themselves into as many channels as possible look set to capture the most value. They'll be the richest, the most successful, the most connected, capable and influential among us."
