Unemployment falls in metro areas as workers halt searches

Laid-off workers took breaks from their job searches in September, and this pushed the monthly unemployment rate down in many U.S. metropolitan areas. Unemployment fell in 223 of 380 metro areas, or about 59%, but that doesn't mean employment rose. "The job market is not recovering at all yet," IHS Global Insight economist Jim Diffley said. "We're looking at another jobless recovery."
