Panelists at a hotel revenue management webinar suggested that hotel managers experiment with market segments to see if they can generate any rate benefits. Chinmai Sharma, vice president of revenue management at Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, said hotels must ensure Global Distribution Systems, hotel direct, online travel agencies and other segments work together. "It's just like a game of Tetris," Sharma said. "The thing to keep in mind is that each channel has its own cost so mix is very important."
