EU lawmakers vote on MiFID amendments

The European Parliament voted on several amendments to a proposed update of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive. Lawmakers approved an amendment that would synchronize the time stamp on all derivatives trades in the bloc by putting them on a single clock, and they also revived calls for reining in high-frequency trading.
