Pet-costume sales soar

Americans are expected to spend $370 million this year on Halloween costumes for their pets, $60 million more than in 2011. APPA president Bob Vetere said family pets fill a void when children grow up, adding, "Dressing them for Halloween makes them more social. It's also cute for kids coming to the house for candy."
