Although regulators began allowing political donations via text message only as of June, 10% of donors to date have used their mobile devices to contribute to the presidential candidates, according to a Pew report. Mobile made up 15% of donations from Democrats and 6% of Republican donations, the report found. "It's interesting that neither candidate did a lot of promotion for mobile donations and yet it was still 10%. It could have been much higher if the candidates more actively solicited them," said Alex Campbell, co-founder of Vibes, Chicago.
