BlueLine gives cops a social network of their own

A startup social network called BlueLine offers law enforcement professionals a place to share information about best practices and discuss their work. The site's tools allow for videoconferences, instant messaging and screen sharing, and users are expected to stay focused on the job. "We're not looking to be Facebook in the sense of posting family pics," says BlueLine founder Bill Bratton, a former Los Angeles and New York police chief who created the CompStat crime-mapping system.
