Improved diabetes outcomes seen with pharmacist intervention

A senior patient who uses a wheelchair and has uncontrolled type 2 diabetes received a disease intervention from a clinical pharmacist, attaining better A1C and showing improvements in peripheral neuropathy and visual impairment at 12 weeks, a case study indicated. The results in Clinical Diabetes suggest that such providers may aid in disease management in diabetes patients, researchers said.
