L'Oréal vending machines recommend products in the subway

L'Oréal is providing cosmetic recommendations and a chance to buy L'Oréal Paris products through an interactive-screen vending machine in a New York subway station. The L'Oréal Paris Intelligent Color Experience comes from R/GA Lab and is part of a growing experimental marketing trend. "We'll have the ability to measure the level of engagement ... [including] the number of people who pass by, the number who interact," said Marc Speichert, chief marketing officer at L’Oréal Americas.
