N.C. college considers slashing some majors

Undergraduate degree programs in seven subjects, including physics, history and political science, soon could be eliminated at Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina because of declining enrollment and budget constraints. Officials at the historically black college say the majors are "low productive" -- a designation given to 11% of programs across the University of North Carolina system.
