Samsung leads the way in global smartphone sales for Q3

Samsung accounted for more than a third of third-quarter smartphone sales, and the total topped 250 million for the first time, Strategy Analytics reported. Sixty percent of all units sold globally were smartphones, which is also a first for the market, John Koetsier writes. Separately, Apple's iPhone faces a test in China amid a rising tide of less-expensive handsets.
