Maryland insurer to cut workers' comp rate

Maryland's state-run workers' compensation insurer, Injured Workers Insurance Fund, said it will have a 5% overall reduction in its base due to a reduction in claims frequency. The agency said 16 industries will receive dramatic rate reductions effective Jan. 1, 2008.
